The House of Representatives Passed the DTSA, Sending the Bill to President Obama to Sign

Following the January vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee, on April 4, 2016, the Senate passed the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 in a unanimous vote of 86-0. Shortly thereafter, on April 20, 2016, the House Judiciary Committee approved the Senate’s version of the DTSA. On April 27, 2016, the House of Representatives passed the legislation in a vote of 410-2. The bill is now being sent to the White House for President Barack Obama’s signature. The Obama administration has shown strong support for the bill.
